At first glance, many assume the Edge Alnes is built solely for surfers, rock-gardeners and adrenaline junkies. That was indeed its original purpose — to fill a gap I felt in the market for a kayak that could handle challenging conditions. But over a year of paddling has revealed something broader: it serves far more than just surfing and rough water.

The Edge Alnes is also an excellent day-touring kayak. Its short length and light weight make it easy to manoeuvre and handle, with exceptional stability and predictability on the water. Whether I'm practicing technique, running self-rescues or working on rolls, it excels in every scenario.

It's a kayak you grow with — not one you outgrow. Seasoned paddler or curious newcomer, the Alnes fits the bill.

Our Alnes is built from fiberglass. Some are sceptical about durability, but fiberglass is remarkably strong and gives a far more precise paddling experience than plastic. If you do damage it, repairs are straightforward — and with proper care these kayaks last over 50 years. That longevity matters: we build boats meant to endure, not to be thrown away like so much else on the market.

The Alnes is 100% designed and built in Norway — we're the only kayak manufacturer in the country, and that fills us with pride. We're passionate paddlers who care about the sport and its community, and we're excited to develop more kayaks and gear in the years ahead. It's deeply rewarding to see our kayak welcomed as far away as the USA and Canada.
