Ch. 01 — Our Story

From Ålesund,
to the open ocean.

Team Edge is highly experienced in kayaking, and we aim to be an innovative developer of kayaks and accessories. Our main product developer is Edd Bjørke, well known within our sport.

Edge Kayak has its headquarters in Ålesund, a small town close to the vast, open, foaming ocean and steep mountains. The landscape and the sea invite versatile paddling — leisurely trips into the fjords, or the rough waves that hit the Norwegian coastline.

2020

The idea

Edd Bjørke sets out to make a kayak more adapted to surf and play than any regular sea kayak.

2021

The wooden prototype

Edd builds a fully functioning wooden prototype — inspired by the traditional kayaks of Greenland.

2022

Tested at Alnes

The prototype is thoroughly tested and meets Edd's uncompromising demands. Its extreme features now need a larger audience.

2025

Into production

Edge Kayak International AS partners with Eagle Composites to produce high-quality kayaks and build the next generation of Edge Alnes.

Ch. 04 — The Partnership

Built together,

We’ve partnered with Skim Kayaks — premium, hand-made composite sea kayaks since 2003 — and moved Edge Alnes v2 production to Eagle Composite, a professional team in Albania with decades of experience in kayak building.
